She received a BFA from the  Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She later settled in Western Massachusetts where she received her Master degree in art education 
from Smith College.
Text Box: STERLING EDWARDS -- A contemporary watercolorist born in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of twelve, he studied oil painting and began experimenting with every medium at his disposal. In 1985 he began using watercolors. His later work is often abstract.

Her diverse styles reveal varietal subject matter from quickly painted Plein Airs to highly detailed, realistic works completed in the studio. Raney also teaches workshops at White Hart Woods, a new learning and healing center in West Jefferson.  Rogers is also White Hart Woods' resident artist.

In 2006 Joe was awarded the Dolphin Medal of the American Watercolor Society for his contributions to watercolor and art in general. Joe has taught watercolor to thousands of individuals through his workshops and videos.
